- readme & walkthrough

version 1.1

MS Emma has arrived in the Waterfront harbour carrying a dreadful cargo. Follow the footsteps of a sailor called Stephan Costigan and face an ancient darkness lurking beneath the Temple of the One.

This mod adds a small quest and a medium sized dungeon complex to the Imperial City. Begin your quest at the Bloated Float.

This mod has been cleaned with TES4EDIT and should be compatible with 98% percent of the mods out there. Shivering Isles required. BC compatible. Used resources are unaltered.

CREDITS

Once again this mod would not exist without the great work of individuals far more talented than myself. Here are the resources I used for this mod:

Barabus' Crypt set
Phitt's old school dungeons and Lich King
Mr Siika's Necropolis & dwarven tileset and bats
LittleBarons Ghouls and Mummies
Spiders - Cryonaut (model edit / rigging), Xmarksthespot (UVmapping), Grimeath (texture), Renzeekin (Tropical Skin)
Staff of Magnus model by Havelock and Dorje
Ghogiel's Jian model

My greatest apologies if I left someone out. Please inform me if this is the case.

WALKTHROUGH (OMG!!1 SPOILER WARNING!)

First, haul your ass to Waterfront. If the mod is installed correctly or I have not managed to screw it up before uploading, there should be a notice on the Tavern deck of the Bloated Float. Read the journal and search forthe journal of a sailor called Stephan Costigan in the lower Inn deck. It should be lying on of the the shelves on the hallway.

The journal reveals that something very bad was found from the waters near Yokuda (you should get a quest update now). That bad thing was transported into the Imperial City where a bunch of looneys took it to the Temple district. To be more precise, they took it under it. That means you have to somehow get under the Temple district. Now how is that possible? Well, there are the Temple sewers for instance. So maybe you should check there.

To get to temple sewers, you need to go to the Talos plaza. There you can find a sewer entrance to the Talos plaza sewers. Now go to the southwest tunnel. After that find your way to the temple sewers. Now you should look for a hatch that leads to the Abandoned Sewers. There's one that leads to a crypt, but that's locked for now, so forget that.

So now you should be in the Abandoned Sewers. From here on just push ahead until you get to a hatch that leads to the Temple Catacombs. There are couple of sewer doors that you need to open along the way but no puzzles or such. There's hooded figure guarding the way, kill him and get his book (not necessary just some useful info).

When you have reached the catacombs start killing some undead! Work you way upwards until you come to a pit with spikes. Look for a secret switch (it's a loose brick to your right). A secret wall will open and reveal another switch! A floor will appear and now you can open the portcullis and enter the Halls of the Dead.

Admire the models by Mr Siika for a while. Then start looking for a cavern-like tunnel with stairs. You'll probably encounter a ghoul and and an undead hound on your way. But anyways you should look for an entrance to the Leper Tunnels. Go down the shaft until you get to the catacomb tunnels and start killing some zombies again! Look for an altar with a dead guy on it. Search poor fellow and get his key and his sword. He is wearing a pair of gauntlets called the Hands of the Hiradirge (the stone magic of Hiradirge is mentioned in one of the books the cultists are carrying). Take them. (you should get a quest update now).

Get back to the Halls of the dead. Look for another room with descending stairs. There should be a statue and a brazier in that room (not the big Arkay one). Kill the ghouls in that room and look for a gate wheel under the stairs. A secret floor should open in the room near you. The stairs lead to the Necropolis Substructure. You'll need the key from the guy's corpse to open this door.

The substructure is an easy one, just don't fall down to the vast nothingness! Continue your subterranean journey until you have reached broken stairs leading to a temple-like structure. Beware of the rocks falling from above! Here you need to jump. No need for superior acrobatics, just watch your step. When you get to the other side kill the two cultists. Enter the Desecrated Crypt. (You should get a quest update now).

You can explore the crypt for a while. There is a cave opposite of the entrance with a few zombies. After killing them put on the Hands of the Hiradirge and press the sealed wall. It should crumble if you are wearing the gauntlets. Now you have entered the lair of the big badass. The only way you can beat him (unless you are level 50 character or cheating) is to kill him with the Orichalc Blade. Once he is off to Oblivion a rock wall will open and you have finished your quest at last! Congratulations!, , ! !
